Bubba & Grandpa Turn Another Year

Posted by Tawny

My baby brother Bubba, aka Brennan, turned 17 this year on the same day Grandpa Stratton turned a year too:) Bub, a junior this year, is a natural born leader, he stands tall at 6'5" , he plays varsity for Lone Peak football and basketball, has an incredible but not widely known talent for writing, poetry & drawing, and he can cook like nobody's business! When ever I see him cooking in the kitchen, I tell him to make one for me before I even know what it is he's whipping up. I'd hire him to be my personal chef. Yep, he's quite the catch ladies, but I think he's "taken" right now and besides he's much too young to be stolen permanently. (Yes, his four older sister's protectiveness comes in here... anyone wanting Bubba has to pass the quadruple older sister test. Better study hard girls!!)

This picture is CLASSIC! Anyone who knows "Grandma GiGi" knows she's the most devout, the most avid, the most LOYAL Jazz Fan. It's endearing how much she loves and roots on her boys. She also gets really upset when they start doing stupid stuff at the end of a game:) We love her more for it!!
It's sweet to see how much the girls love Grandpa GiGi. Teya adores him and would sit on his lap all night. I think they feel a connection that's deeper than just the time they've had with him on this Earth, because I've noticed it's the same with Grandpa Smith... although Teya has only spent a small number of times with him she won't leave his side when we visit him in Idaho.
But who wouldn't just love to cuddle up to a man so sweet as him:) Notice the way Teya's looking at him in this picture.

We played Bunko after cake and gifts. Cohen joined in and had had quite the time!!

Oh my gosh, I'm in love with that picture of Teya looking adoringly at your Grandpa (her great-grandpa). That is a picture she will treasure when she is a grown woman. I know because I have one of me with my Grandpa like that and I love it. He died young so I didn't get to know him very well, but I treasure any picture I can find with us together. Nice memories.
